New Laptop: how to be ADMIN on Nas104
Home office PC is Win7 user Jim is an admin on RN10400 [software is current] RN10400 is working just fine ... and i have full ADMIN rights on the RN10400. My ACCOUNT-USER on the RN10400 is Jim I ...

I get a log-in & password prompt: everything i try fails.
FYI: My NAS104 just has the user = Jim
Question: You said the username on the 2 windows credentials can be different?
I'm confused - don't they have to equal my Win8.1 AND RN104 user account name?
I entered 2 windows credentials as you instructed: storage user Jim & 192.168.1.10 user Jim
I use the pw associated with 192.168.1.10/admin
no help [access denied]
I also entered 2 generic credentials ... same as above no help [access denied]
The only think "strange" is the Win8.1 login [after the first access denied] defaults to \\storage shows domain = JIMHP [the RN104 admin pword doesn't work for that either]
I WISH i would have set a restore point before I started down this road ... ah well ... lesson learned.
I am SURE that you know what i need to do but I just don't understand enough to do it.
I'm 66 years old with 40 years in various aspects of systems... so I'm really feeling like a dummy.
Please have patience and try once more if you have another idea.
If you are willing I can let you net-op into my laptop
If not - I'll take to Office Max and have them factory reset it.
