NFS / AUTOFS access problem on ubuntu/debian

Hello,

I have a readynas ultra2.
I have set 2 shares in addition to defaults ones ( media & backup )
I have disabled CIFS and AFP, enabled NFS and set NFS to "read/write" on all shares (I have only linux pcs (debian or ubuntu)).

On the computer, I have set my readynas in the /etc/hosts file (with the IP and nas name):
192.168.xx.xx nas_name

In the /etc/auto.master, I have set
/net -hosts --ghost --timeout=60

I didnt modified the auto.net script.
then I restart autofs (or reboot, tried both)

If I get to /net/nas_name/c/ and do ls -l, I have my shares:
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 backup
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 backup_xxxx
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 backup_yyyy
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 media

If I try to access one of them, it does not work and if I do ls -l again, I have strange things !
yyyy@regis:/net/nas_name/c$ cd backup_yyyy/
bash: cd: backup_yyyy/: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
yyyy@regis:/net/nas_name/c$ ls -l
ls: impossible d'accéder à backup_yyyy: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
total 0
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 backup
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 backup_anne
d????????? ? ? ? ? ? backup_yyyy
drwxr-xr-x 2 root root 0 déc. 20 08:02 media

The owner and rights of the share is replaced by some ???????

Any idea ??

  • Please provide the logs if you can, so we can analyze them. Also are you on the newest firmware of the device. If you are. Try an OS Reinstall (dont worry your data and most of your settings are safe, just you need to redo your password, it resets to "netgear1" and also your IP settings reset back to DHCP). If your not on the newest firmware which is 4.2.22, please upgrade to it, and try it again.
  • Hello,
it's a fresh install (I get the readynas yesterday). Firmware is upto date (I updated it)
I have launch a factory reset (didnt found OS resinstall).
    I will let you know

Ok, factory reset is done, result is the same.

    yyyy@regis:/net/nas_name/c$ ls -l
ls: impossible d'accéder à media: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
ls: impossible d'accéder à backup: Aucun fichier ou dossier de ce type
    total 0
    d????????? ? ? ? ? ? backup

  • Ok now I have something else :

debian pc : nfs issue but cifs ok
    ubuntu pc : nfs ok

maybe it's a nfs configuration issue or autofs on my debian machine
