Particularly if you haven't done so in a very long time. There have been a lot of filesystem improvements since say 4.2.8 and 4.2.22 that can only be obtained via doing a factory default.
Thanks, I'll take your advice. Finding space for 6 TB of backing up is proving quite a challenge, but it sounds like a good idea.
