NV+ stuck on "Booting..."
Switched from DSL to cable internet today. As a result, my NV+ lost its IP address. So I properly shut it down from the unit and restarted.
It's now been a half-hour and it still says "Booting...". All my drive lights are green (3-drive system).

What's my next step? Thanks!

- network23AspirantAnyone?
Is it safe to force-reboot (hold down power button) and try again?
If that doesn't work, what should I try next? - StephenBGuru - Experienced UserHopefully you have a backup, so you are ok no matter what.
Do you happen to know what firmware you are running? Also, does RAIDar see the NAS? (it might give you some more information). - network23AspirantNot a full backup, so hopefully I can recover from this...
No, I don't know the firmware, but I think it might be the version before 4.1.10 (I was getting email reminders to update).
And no, RAIDar does not see the NAS.
Thanks for your help. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredPower down, remove disks (label order), connect to internal SATA port in your PC and check them e.g. Using SeaTools for SeaGate disks. The Ultimate Boot CD is useful for this.
- network23AspirantWhat am I looking for in SeaTools?
And what will I do if everything is fine?
And would it hurt to restart the NAS to see if it might work? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou could try rebooting the NAS if you like.
You are looking (e.g. using SeaTools) to see if there is a failing disk. Manufacturers have both short and long tests for doing this. - network23AspirantOkay, I will try rebooting and then test the disks.
FYI, I recently upgraded all three disks in my NAS. All are WD RED and all are less than 3 months old and it's been stable and working fine for at least 3 weeks. - network23AspirantOkay!!!
It looks like the cable installer knocked the NAS ethernet cable enough to where it wasn't connected to the switch. Once I plugged it back in firmly, it showed up immediately in RAIDar and has booted with an IP.
Thanks for all the help!
