What I meant about 1GB RAM was related to the other thread you posted in. 4.1.10 doesn't work well with a lot of 1GB modules but it does work with 256MB modules, so if you had updated to 4.1.10 that would've been a possible cause of this issue.
NetGear does not support using 3rd party RAM and the stock 256MB RAM module should be sufficient.
