OS 6 problems need subforum
Had a quick look - does not seem to be a forum to discuss OS6. I've just got a 316, and I now see why there are so many complaints - the GUI is appalling. In 2 hours I've encountered the following...
The failure to find the Nas was with 6.0.4.
I basically had to factory default twice and activate a dhcp server before I could access the GUI.
Config backup is very poor, it is inconceivable that these problems were not obvious to the developers during testing before release.
The backup jobs were gone, IE and chrome. Did not empty cache. Changed backup type from nfs to rsync.
Unfortunately I have become dependent on rsync pull functionality which is not easy ( for me anyway) to use with the other manufacturer's Nas units. Both synology and qnap require Linux command line work.
This, and the forum support, outweighed the disadvantages for me.
What concerns me is that, if the GUI is so poor, is the unit going to alert me to problems and maintain my data reliably.
The GUI does not inspire much confidence in what it's directing.
