You find the instructions in the Hardware Manual don't clarify it for you?
1. Press and hold reset button
2. Power on ReadyNAS
3. Keep on holding reset button
4. After about 5 seconds the disk LEDs will blink
5. Release the reset button at this point
Monitor the NAS in RAIDar to see what it is doing. If you somehow held the reset button in for 30 seconds (factory reset) you would see it come up with instructions to Click Setup and when you did you would be prompted to choose the RAID mode. In which case you could not do this and power down to abort your mistake. There is a 10 minute countdown after which time if you haven't chosen a RAID mode or powered down the factory reset would proceed with X-RAID / Flex-RAID (whichever you chose last time) chosen for you.

i have this same problem today. How do you monitor this in RAIDar?
