Yes. And with a router, you might not have access to the duo over the entire network.

You could possibly get a router and deploy it as an Access Point (not as a router). If you do that, you can connect the mac mini and the duo to the ethernet ports of the AP. Most newer netgear routers support that configuration. That would also let you access the duo over the full network.
