I agree. A built-in way to put iscsi traffic on a dedicated LAN port is related, and maybe could be done through the same mechanism.

Let me just offer one clarification concerning out-of-band management. Out-of-band management should provide a separate console or a separate GUI or a separate web access that will still run when everything is f*ck3d up. One good example is HP's iLO feature. Even the free unlicensed HP iLO can provide you with a simple button to remotely power cycle the server or storage that has hung.
Having this capability to do remotely is a definite need for global MNC offices such as ours.
Placing the out-of-band management ip address in a different VLAN is optional and is simply for organization and simplified management of similar out-of-band process of all other devices.
Has someone here made any particular workaround or hack to probably have a somehow out-of-band management feature from the current readyNAS devices? If yes, please do let me know. Thanks.
