Password for Locked Hard Drives
Hi Support, I have a problem on my ReadyNAS pro 6 HDD. My readynas pro can't access some hdd. When i put these hdd on my desktop and power on. My PC will show Hard disk "xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" is ...
I've never had to do this, but there is an old thread that suggests the following:
For future reference, this should unlock the drives:
hdparm --security-unlock NETGEAR /dev/???
hdparm --security-disable NETGEAR /dev/???
So maybe try NETGEAR on the PC.
You can find hdparm for Windows, but the commands might not work there, since /dev/??? is an linux path.
