Not for local NAS accounts. The NAS will generate a warning for some simple passwords - for instance if you try to use 1234 it will tell you that is too weak. However, it will let you click through that warning, and you have no control over the algorithm that generates the warning.
If you are using AD, then of course the password strength is up to domain controller.
FWIW, the RN100 and the RN300 series are no longer in production. The currently shipping entry-level home system is now the RN200 series. The currently shipping entry-level business system is the RN400. The RN100 and RN300 are of course fully supported.
