Password reset is not working
Hello. I have a ReadyNAS 104, where none of my passwords are working. Even the master password reset. And, that one I know intimately. They are documented, but it's like the hardware has...

My best guess is a full OS partition. That problem just continues to get worse oce it happens. Do not try a USB recovery, it is not the solution for that problem and will make it worse (because it will fail). Try to get to support mode via RAIDar first (click on the system icon several times and that option will appear), then ask a Negear mod to take a look in your system. If you can't do that, then you'll have to power down with a long button push or by pulling power, then power up in support mode.

It's so very odd.
It doesn't matter what passwords I have on file, the unit is accepting none of them in RaidAR.
If I attempt to readycloud.netgear.com, I have access, but then the device doesn't actually appear.
I took the 3rd and 4th drives out to get it running; it was the fourth one which seem to have a fault.
But, I can't seem to access to logs, or anything for that matter.
Wow, when these fail, they don't mess around!
Thanks again for your wisdom and experience in this.

You took the third and fourth drives out and left the first two? If you have a RAID array that includes all of those and you powered up in that condition, you may have just lost all of your data. If you needed to know which drive was bad, you should have tested each one outside the NAS with manufacturer's tools before powering on with just the good three.
Even if you lost the data volume, you should be able to get the logs, though.

Actually, I set up two separate mirrored arrays.
2 x 1TB drives mirrored
2 x 500GB drives mirrored
I'm still stuck wondering if this is a hardware issues as my passwords are not being accepted.
And, I know Netgear charge fees, but if I had access, I could at least determine whether it was worth paying for...

It doesn't sound like hardware to me. I agree that a filling OS partition is a likely cause.
Do you have a backup of the data? The fastest (though brute-force) way to fix this is do a full factory reset, rebuild the NAS configuration, and restore the data from your backup.
