Playback video on Tivo not working.
Ok, now i know this has been asked a few times but with varying replies, but no resolution.
I am located in Australia so I'm talking about the Aussie version of Tivo.
I have 2 Tivo units, I have just setup a Readynas Ultra 2+
I have enabled the Tivo Service for streaming.
I can view pictures and play my own .mp3 files through Tivo that are placed into the Pictures and Music folders that are already on the Readynas without any problem.
Now here's the issue:
Under Now playing, Readynas shows up, under that I can see "All Video" and "Folders" both are showing zero with nothing in them.
I have placed an avi and a mp4 video file under the "Video" folder through Windows Explorer and onto the Readynas share. Neither show up through Tivo.
I have even copied a .tivo file that i transferred a while ago using the Tivo Desktop Software in the same folder and even that didn't show up to play.
Is there something I'm not doing right or can I not copy downloaded videos i.e. tv shows, on the Readynas and make them available to Tivo to be able to play back?
I have got this far, this last little part I'm trying to get going, is the ONLY thing I want to use the Readynas for instead of having to leave the pc on running the Tivo Desktop Software just for the video transfers.
CAN ANYONE HELP PLEASE????????????????????????????????????????????????

- OzTivoAspirant***UPDATE***
I can copy downloaded .mpeg video files to the Readynas, they show up on Tivo, I can transfer and watch them no problem. :)
It won't do the same for .mp4, .mkv, or .avi files. :(
ATM the Readynas is syncing the HDD's and until that finishes in about 5 hours I can't update the firmware from 4.2.21 to the currently available 4.2.24
Not sure if that will fix the problem.
Can anyone confirm if this will ???? - OzTivoAspirantHave completed the Firmware update and still no joy with the above file types.
- rjdickoAspirantHi,
I have exactly the same issue, i am trying to do this with an Ultra 2, i have updated all firmware for the NAS and the ReadyDLNA and the only files I can view on my Tivo are mpeg files, no AVI or MPEG4 which of course most of my shows/movies are in this format.
Any luck with this? - OzTivoAspirantThe Aussie version of tivo is not fully dlna compatible. I emailed both Netgear and Tivo support or whats left of it and the conclusion I came to with the help I got was, Tivo is supposed to be DLNA ready but given that the aussie version is missing so much compared to the US version, It's just doesn't fully work.
There response was more or less it it is DLNA ready so it must be something wrong my end...
I gave up trying and Upgraded my tv to A Samsung Smart LED TV which is also DLNA compliant, reset the Readynas drive back to default and everything worked first go. All the common file types stream flawlessly.
So I guess there is to a degree DLNA software in the Oz Tivo's, as it does see the ReadyNas on a network and can stream "a" filetype, but it needs tweaking and given we are getting SFA out of TiVo support these days, it is like flogging a dead horse trying to get them to look at it.
