Plex from ReadyNAS Ultra 4 to PS3.
Hello.
I have a Readynas ultra 4. And i want to stream media from the NAS to my PS3.
I installed Plex on the NAS, but it wont appear on my PS3. How can i make the Ps3 see my Plex media center on the NAS?
When i turn ReadyDLNA on the readynas on, i can brows the folders on my PS3. But i cant get the Ps3 to see the Plex mediacenter.

- sphardy1ApprenticeAre you using Plex Media Server 0.9.6.1? DLNA support was formally released in this version which was made available only yesterday - previously you would have had to install a beta release.
Note also that the Ultra 4 doesn't have the processing horsepower to transcode media, so you may not be able to play all you media glitch free (depends on format) - The_Garden_SnakAspirantI have the version v0.9.6.1.89-3c84bb7.
But do i have to disable ReadyDLNA in order to run Plex? Or anything else i have to enable or disable so i can detect plex on the PS3? I just installed plex on my computer, and that just popped up right away on the PS3.
Thanx for the tip on the Ultra 4. I have to see if i can live with it. If i can get it going first though :P. - sphardy1ApprenticeI would definitely disable ReadyDLNA before enabling Plex - the 2 may conflict. There is nothing to enable in Plex - DLNA is just on in the latest release
- The_Garden_SnakAspirantI have an option called edit personal DLNA config in frontview under the Plex tab. Any idea what i can config with that? Or should i just let it be?
I turned off the ready dlna now. I wil try a re install of the plex media manager now. - The_Garden_SnakAspirantI must admit i did not understand all off that forum post, I am not that into programming language. But thanks anyway. I'm stil struggling to get this to work though. I tried re installing it on my nas. Did not help. It wont appear on other clients on my net either. But i installed Plex media manager and center on my computer. And my computers plex popps up on my PS3. So i think it is something wrong from the NAS. But when i enable readyDLNA on the NAS, it also popps up on my PS3. But not the PLEX. hmmmm.
- sphardy1ApprenticeThere is a setting in that post that describes enabling Plex, which seems to be the default on your computer installation, but maybe not on the NAS installation. Can't test this for the moment due as I'm travelling, but maybe someone else can comment
- jblbosecvAspirantI have a ReadyNAS Pro running the 0.9.6.1 version of Plex Media Server and DLNA seems to be broken for me. My Xbox, PS3, and Panasonic TV can't find the server. If I go back to the 0.9.6.0 beta, DLNA works again.
- The_Garden_SnakAspirantAny news on this?
- jblbosecvAspirant0.9.6.3 fixed this for me, the DLNA processes were not starting in 0.9.6.1
