PLEX to iPad
I use an NV+v2 with PLEX on board, streaming compressed movies to my iPad 2 (with iOS PLEX)...
...and I'm delighted that most of these movies play without issue, but some movies will not play - with a warning message that this version of PLEX does not facilitate transcoding.
I know that such transcoding is a limitation of ARM, but I would appreciate information on why the majority of my movies will stream/play successfully, while other movies will not.

- More than likely there is a codec issue. Maybe try downloading mediainfo (www.videohelp.com/tools/mediainfo), and use it to analyze some of the files that don't work.
- As StevenB said, it's more than likely in a certain file type or codec that isn't native to iOS. Thus forcing Plex to transcode it, which isn't in the ARM version.
