Meural iOS/iPad App cannot login (Jan 2025)

Not sure what has happened, but neither my iOS or iPadOS Meural app can login to Meural/Netgear. It used to work and I can still login via the web so my login details are fine.

 

In the app I can enter my login details, get the txt code and then it just spins and nothing happens.

Anyone have any idea on how to fix this, the apps are functionally useless at present.

  • If you login to my.meural.com, and go to your profile, and select your country code, then the Meural app will complete login. This worked for me evidently the new software requires the country code be selected.

  • I am having the same issue and support has not been able to help me. Hope someone has figured it out and can help.

  • I have tried a few things to try and fix this, deleted the app on my iPad and iPhone and then re-installed them. Rebooted both devices and still no luck logging in it just spins as mentioned in my first post.

      I have the same problem. No login completion

      • Having the same issue. After following the above instructions here (factory reset canvas, reinstall mobile app). After attempting to pair my canvas to my home wifi, the app shows, "wrong network name or password" 

        I have tested and confirmed my network and password are correct with other devices. 
        Have tried using both the QR code or manually entering the Product key. Neither work. 

         

        I am not able to get the app to connect the frame to my mobile phone. The meural will only show the welcome screen with QR code.  

        Canvas Software Versio: 2.0.3
        Web App Version: v5.0.1

        iPhone, iOS version: 18.2.1 

         

         

  • I am having the same problem and have tried all the suggestions. Netgear please fix this!
  • Can I suggest you all go to your app stores and give it a one star rating with the reasons why and point them to this thread? It might help Netgear take notice.

      Thanks AJL50, that worked for me!

      Some pretty bad programming expecting a user to fill in optional profile stuff and then basing a login success on that rather than having a default to not filled in.

      This worked!   I’ve spent weeks logging in and out, updating passwords, resetting WiFi and Meural.  I could login from web but not app.  App kept spinning. 

      when I read this suggestion I thought there was no way the fix could be so obscure.
       I entered my profile name, country, zip code from the web, all which had been blank for years..  Tried the app and it flippin worked!

      How the heck did you figure this out?

  • Just to add to this - I was having the same issue as above (login, endless spinner) and when logging into my.netgear.com I found that my country was already set (and two-factor auth also disabled. However, my first and last name were listed as "undefined" and the address was also empty, and after filling in the name, address, etc., the login in the iOS app worked again.

     

    So it's very possible that entering the profile information, or just updating the profile, is enough to solve the login problems.
