Possible?: Upgrading from Duo v1 to NV+ v2
Hi guys, I am increasingly running out of space on my old Duo and there isn't any way to expand this device any further (or not that I am aware of). If I bought an NV+ 2 or maybe something bigger....

Yes, though it is best if the Duo drives are also on the ultra HCL. If you like, you can delete the partitions (by connecting the drives to a PC) as you move them to the Ultra - that ensures that the ultra will see them as new.

I decided to connect the new ReadyNAS Ultra 2 to my network and see if a NAS-2-NAS backup would fair better. I purchased a copy of your guide (very nicely written, by the way!) and set up the backup jobs as you described. They are running as I type this, but the guide never spoke about migrating the drives after the backup completes. Allow me to explain....
My old ReadyNAS is a Sparc Duo and the new ReadyNAS is a x86 Ultra 2. I have 2x1TB drives in the Duo and a spare 1TB drive (for backups). Here is the plan I was hoping to follow....
1) Install the spare drive into the Ultra 2
2) Copy my files from the Duo to the Ultra 2
3) Remove one drive from the Duo and install it into the Ultra 2
4) Mirror the drives in the Ultra 2 and let them sync up
5) Remove the second drive from the Duo and keep it in a safe place as a backup
Is this possible?
