Printing problem - canon Pixima IP 4500

Dear Nas Specialists,

I just received my first macbook.

I think I got a problem configuring the printer.

This is what I did.
I went to the readynas admin page and turned on Bonjour.
Then i went to the canon site to download the latest printer driver for Pixima IP 4500 canon printer.
After running the update on the whole system I tried to print a test page.
I can see the printer en it has status ready.
But the test page never comes.

When i plug in the printer directly in the usb port of the laptop it works fine.

The other windows pc's are working fine.

I am running OS X 10.7.4
I have a Canon pixima IP 4500 printer
nas: ReadyNAS Ultra 6 [X-RAID2]
firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.21

A big thanks in advance for helping me out !

  • Did you configure your printer on your Macbook as a network printer?
  • When I want to print something.

    I can chose Add printer
Then the printer shows up and the location is "Readynas"
It all goes automatic that way.
Then I selected the downloaded driver there..

Did I do something wrong there?
I'm using OS X for the first time, so I don't know my way around in it yet.
  • Seems no one can help me. :-(
I did google a lot about this subject, but i still don't know what can be wrong.

Just hope someone can come up with some help.

    Thanks in advance !
