Private Time Machine not working on ReadyNas 102 - Sierra and Firmware 6.7.4
Hello, I have moved to a new home and changed the router. Everything worked fine since I have brought here my ReadyNas 102, connected via Ethernet to the router, and tried to backup my Mac again, a...

No, in fact I discovered it connected via SMB.
I have kept only afp on as a service and didn't manage to connect, also via finder.

I don't own a Mac, but my understanding is that Time Machine needs AFP to be on. If the OSX system can't reach the NAS via AFP, I think you need to fix that first.
It might also help to turn on UPNP in the ReadyNAS.

Yes, I guess there is something wrong with AFP. The strange thing is that before it worked fine.
And I know that Apple is leaving AFP, which is ok, as long as it moves TimeMachine also on SMB...
I will try with a Lacie Nas. If it works, then it's not 100% Apple faults.

Today's update. After many tries and guessing, I have come until now to the conclusion that the problem is the D-Link router. When I reboot the router, the AFP connection to the NAS appears in Finder for a glimpse, and then no more. So for cross-check I have connected directly the ReadyNas to the Mac via Ethernet with both static IPs. It connected perfectly and now it started the backup.
I have mailed to the D-Link to know something more, and if I can fix the problem.
So many mobile parts in these problems!
I'll keep you updated...
Thanks for guiding me to the maybe possible solution.

Look for a upnp setting in the router - and try changing it (disabling if it's enabled, and enable it if it is off). That might help. Though there are some security implications to turning it on.
Or of course, get a Nighthawk or an Orbi :smileywink:
