Pro 6 backup to USB port running for over 15 hours...
i've got 1.8tb of data on my Pro 6 and im preparation of upgrading the firmware I thought it would be a good idea to backup all my data. Luckily I happen to have a brand new external 3TB drive available. So I pluged it into the front port, made a backup job to copy the contents of the "media" share to the USB_HDD_4. I ran the job. 14 hours later it's only copied 1.3tb to the drive. Doesn't these seem crazy slow??? i would have thought directly connected was the fastest way to perform this operation. What's going wrong?
The external drive was formatted as a NTFS drive.
Ideas? I expect the backup to finish sometime tonight a full 24 hours after it started.

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserI think you should let it finish, and work on optimizing your backups after you do the upgrade.
- roveer1GuideI let it finish, it took 22 hours for 1.8TB's I read the optimizing faq and already had journeling disabled. I did turn on fast USB writes. Seems to have sped things up quite a bit. I'm running another full backup to see if there is improvement.
- roveer1GuideSo far my backup has been running for 2 hours. It's backed up 200gb. That's 100gb/hr, that's 1.66gb/min on a USB attached device. Is this good or bad? By my math this backup should take somewhere between 18 and 20 hours to complete. Doesn't seem that great. Am I missing something here?

You are getting about 28 MB/s, which is reasonable performance for a USB-2 drive..roveer wrote: So far my backup has been running for 2 hours. It's backed up 200gb.
