Pro 6 Expansion issues with last disk
Hi There,
I installed 4 new disks in my pro 6 last week expanding from 2 x 3Tb to 6 x 3Tb.
There was about 1.3Tb of data on there so it took about 2 or 3 days for 3 extra disks to be added but it has now got stuck on the last (in bay 6).
I get this error message in the log about every 5 minutes:
Severity Date Message
Tue Sep 2 12:09:45 GMT 2014 Volume expansion failed
Tue Sep 2 12:09:40 GMT 2014 Incompleted file system expansion detected. Resuming...
If I check the health there is nothing to tell me there is a problem. All disks are up and running, only disk 2 is showing errors and that is one of the old ones, it has 30 ATA errors.
If I compare the SMART + page for disk 3 and disk 6 they are identical and showing no errors.
I am running the latest version of radiator for the pro 6.
1. Does anyone have any suggestions of what the problem may be and how to fix?
2. Should I remove disk 2 as it has some errors?
I haven't rebooted the drive yet as everyone is using it, I will try this later tonight.
Thanks,
Gerrad

You probably hit the 8TB online expansion limit over the life of the volume.
Backup, factory reset (wipes all data, settings, everything), then restore data from backup would be the best way forward.
