Problem Setting Quotas on Shares (ReadyNAS 422)
Re: Problem Setting Quotas on Shares (ReadyNAS 422)
Hello All,
Currently I am trying to set Quotas on Shares on our customer’s NAS. (ReadyNAS 422 / version 6.5.1)
The procedure we are using is to click on the Share, select “Settings”, and then in the dialog that opens select the “Properties” tab. Then check the “Quota” checkbox (next to “Size:”) and after setting “GB” input 834 (about 80% of the HDD).
We manage over 100 NAS in different offices, and have been able to set the Quota successfully on most of the NAS.
However, on a few of the NAS we get an error where the font of the “Size:” field in the dialog above changes to red when we try to set it, and it becomes impossible to make any setting changes for the number or GB or MB.
Otherwise no error message or anything appears, it just becomes un-editable.
Has anyone seen this error before, and knows of any solution?
Please let me know if you need additional information, or if any logs etc. would be helpful.
*The firmware version of our NAS is out of date, but we unfortunately cannot change it.
Also, the attached photo is not a capture from my environment, its just an example.
Thank you.

Try going to the volume settings wheel, and disable quota there. Then re-enable it, and try to set it for the share again.
