Problem with admin page 104
Hi all
brought a 104 and a 102 a few weeks ago and have loved them but the 102 quickly filled up so decided to buy another 104 for all the kids stuff. Saw a ex demo advertised with 2 1tb drives at a great price and brought it. Took the drives from the 102 and put them in the 104 and removed the 1tb as too small.
Booted up and it updated the firmware and I can access it in readycloud but when I try to go to the admin page I get this message
The admin page can only be accessed when you are in the same network (lan) as your readynas but it is so I am confused, any help please.

- vandermerweMasterCould you explain how you updated the firmware without access to the admin pages?
Was your intention to preserve the data on the drives from the 102 when you put them into the 104?
I assume you removed both 1 tb drives so you now have only the 2 drives from the 102 in the 104?
Did you factory default the 104 at any stage before you put in the drives from the 102? The 104 firmware should have been at least as recent as that on the 102 if you were planning to preserve the data volume, and this needed to be on the unit before you inserted the disks, although it seems the 104 has done an update. It's also advisable to do an OS reinstall after you migrate disks from one unit to another especially if a different model.
I suspect there is a problem with the network settings on the 104. If you do an OS reinstall on the 104 it will reset network settings to dhcp ( and the admin username and password to default) . The unit should then get an IP address from your dhcp server. This should allow you to access it. - beefybarnAspirantHi
when I first turned on the 104 it went straight into updating the firmware.
Yes would like to preserve the data on the drives from the 102 but not critical.
Yes just the 2 drives from the 102 are now in the 104.
No factory reset done.
How do I reinstall the os, I really am a newbie :D - vandermerweMasterhttp://www.downloads.netgear.com/files/ ... ct2013.pdf

An OS reinstall preserves data.
If you did a factory default this would wipe the disks.
How are the 102 and the 104 connected to your network?
How Is the PC from which you are accessing Readycloud connected to the network? - beefybarnAspirantBoth are connected directly to my router and so is my laptop.
- vandermerweMasterTry the os reinstall
- beefybarnAspirantHave tried the os reinstall and still getting the same message :?
