Problem with Yosemite?
I just upgraded a few days ago and now my time machine will not even recognize the drive, let alone back up to it. I saw people having issues with cloud sync or something and Yosemite, but I am just trying normal back ups with time machine. Any suggestions?

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredShare mode has long been EOL (End of Life) and doesn't really work any more with recent/current client OSes. It is recommended to switch to user mode: http://readynas.sphardy.com/2010/09/how-to-migrate-to-user-security-mode_4917.html
After switching to user mode you should be able to login to SMB/CIFS as the "admin" user and see e.g. the "C" share.
I suspect that after you switch to User mode you should find Time Machine starts working again. - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredO.K.
It turns out that Yosemite with the Firewall enabled there can be some issues. Going to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Firewall > Firewall Options and allow incoming connections for discoveryd fixed the problem in this case.
