Problems upgrading drives in RN 104
Hi guys,
I have a RN 104 that had 4 x 2tb drives in it, and recently acquired 4 x WD Red 4tb drives.
Everything was going smoothly with upgrading the drives, the first one started almost right away and worked perfectly. The second one started syncing right away and finished (although a little slow).
The issue started during the third sync. It turns out there was a power outage which I think - I wasn't home, I was at a friends - would have interrupted the sync before it reached 100%. The next time I tried to boot, the readynas would only say "booting..." overnight. After that I pulled the plug and took out all the drives, then added them back one by one until the same drives booted.
Unfortunately now I still can't access any of my files. When I go to the Volumes section of the Dashboard, I can see 2 x Red (the colour) 4tb drives with green lights, 1 x Grey 4tb Drive and then 1 x Red 2tb drive. I also see a "Remove inactive volumes to use the disk. Desk #1, 2." error message near the top of this screen.
Using RAIRar the drives all show ticks, which means they are healthy (right?). The status, however, says "Volume data-0 RAID Level 5, Inactive, 0 MB (0%) of 0 MB used" and also "Volume data RAID Level 5, Inactive, 0 MB (0%) of 0 MB used" in orange/yellow text.
If I use the "Browse" button from RAIDar I can see all of my folders, but I get a Network Error "Windows cannot access \\192.168.0.4\foldername" when I try to get into a folder.
Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is there any way to kick off the new 4tb drives back into sync mode?
Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Do you mean you inserted the disks (old and new) one by one with the NAS powered on? Do you have full back up of the files?
Can you post a screenshot if what you get under Volumes?

Unfortunately I don't have a backup of the files :(
I shut down the NAS first and took out all of the drives then turned the NAS on, got the 'no disk' message. Then I turned it off and added the first 4tb drive and turned it on, I got past the booting message so shut it down, added the next drive and turned it on etc. - everytime I added a drive I turned the NAS off first.
Here's a link to the Volume page - https://www.dropbox.com/s/2b41q90kizy3y0j/Screenshot%202016-01-14%2018.26.39.png?dl=0
Thank you so much for your help!

Do you have a backup?
I would advise updating your backup before replacing disks one by one to expand your volume.
When you replace a disk the resulting resync puts heavy stress on all the disks. If a disk you don't replace is failing unbeknownst to you then you can run into problems. RAID-5 can withstand a single disk failure, but when you replace a disk the volume is degraded until the sync completes.
This sounds like something which would require a support case to investigate, but there would be some costs involved.
