Hi,
thank you for your quick reply! As you said, I´m using SyncToy 2.1 (or at least I try to :-)) and I had no previous versions installed on my system. However, regarding your questions please let me explain what I want to do:
I have only one PC which is in the same room as the NAS and both are connected to the switch (Linksys SR2024). On my PC I have 3 harddiscs, one for the OS and the apps, one for all my media data (music, movies and pictures) and one as a backup for the media data (which I will not need anymore, as soon as the NAS works like I want it to). I want to synchronize my media data on the local harddisc with the NAS regularly (preferably automatically). At the moment I´m talking about 105GB (22130 files / 1225 folder) for music, 44GB (15926 files / 242 folders) for pics and 51 GB for movies (140 files / 26 folders). In addition I want to install Twonkey (5.0.68 ??) on the NAS so I can access the media files from my PS3 and in future from my SONOS multiroom system. So in fact it is both - a backup of my files on the PC and a centralization of my media to access the shared folder with my multimedia devices.
