The failure is so severe it causes the mounted USB mounted on a Mac to improperly force eject during the RN Backup Job...
I've never seen this issue posted here before (wrt to ReadyNAS), and it seems likely that it would have surfaced by now.
Have you tried copying the folder to the hard drive on the Mac? That would rule out a failing USB drive.
