RAIDar 4.3.8 and JAVA

I added an EDIT to my last post ....
Would there be any difference if I did not first remove RAIDar 4.3.4 and installed RAIDar 4.3.8 "over top"?
By doing that, could I avoid system wide Java installation and continue to use the (admittedly downlevel) Java currently installed with RAIDar 4.3.4??
