RAIDar and changing IP addresses of NAS
Our network has two subnets (a 10. and 192.) the 192 needs to go away and that is the network the ReadyNAS are on. I have RAIDar on a PC on the 192 network. It says v4.3.8. RAIDar on the 10. network does not see the devices, as expected.
I read some old posts from 2012 that says that RAIDar can't be used to change the IP address of the devices. The field seems editable when I'm in there and there is an apply button. Can this still not be changed with RAIDar?
My plan is to access with RAIDar on the 192 network, change the IP (reboot or whatever it needs), and then use RAIDar from a PC on the 10. network to find it. Sounds reasonable but seeing the 2012 posts worried about about not being able to do it.

RAIDar can't change the IP address, it can only display it. Of course you can change the NAS IP address from the NAS web ui. Perhaps you are launching that from RAIDar?
So you can:
(a) Access https://nasip/admin and change the static address and gateway. You'll lose access to the NAS after that until you connect it to the 10.x.x.x nework.
(b) If you have a dhcp servers on the networks, you can temporarily change the NAS to get its address automatically.
(c) set up a PC temporarily with a 192 static address, and directly connect the NAS to the PC (no crossover needed). Then access https://nasip/admin and manually set the address you want. This of course makes the most sense if the 192 network has already been taken down.
(d) An OS-reinstall will reset the NAS admin password to the factory default value, and will also set the NAS to use dhcp. Data and other settings are not affected. The NAS fails over to 192.168.168.168 if the dhcp request times out. In that case, (c) can be used to reach the NAS. This only makes sense for you if you get wedged somehow.
Yes, I meant VIA RAIDar. I always think there is very little you can do in RAIDar but you can hit setup, which opens a a browser page. I would make the change in there.

Just to add, if your ReadyNAS has two NICs it can support your two subnets and should work with no problem.
