I do not have the ReadyNAS connected directly to a router if that is what your first question is refering to. The only thing I did was plug it directly into the ethernet port of the main mac pro which is connected to the internet via wifi. The server shows up on the host computer as AFP. Also, the only computers in the office are indeed macs, all of which are running internet with wifi. Does that make a difference? Is it still possible to connect to the ReadyNAS server through wifi?
