1 is not a lot, but you should certainly keep an eye on that disk.

As for the other issue it's not that important.

You could do

# mount --bind / /mnt
# rmdir /mnt/home/*
# umount /mnt

and that should get rid of that message.

Thanks but:
mount --bind / /mnt
rmdir: failed to remove '/mnt/home/*': No such file or directory
though
mount --bind / /mnt
does seem syntactically correct to me???

  if you do ls /mnt do you see the home folder?

    After
    mount --bind / /mnt
    I see home
    drwxr-xr-x 1 root root 0 May 25 07:54 home lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 5 Sep 25 2015 homes -> /home
