Thanks but:
mount --bind / /mnt
rmdir: failed to remove '/mnt/home/*': No such file or directory
though
mount --bind / /mnt
does seem syntactically correct to me???
if you do ls /mnt do you see the home folder?

I see home

Good. Is anything in that folder?
On the Ultra:
# ls -ahl /home

# ls -ahl /home
