Raidar won't install
I received my NV+ yesterday, but am unable to install Raidar. Whenever I try, I get the following error message: Could not use bundled JRE. Please send this log file to your software vendor: ...

I am now running RAIDar 4.3.2 on three Win 7 HP (64 bit) PCs - two desktops and this laptop. In fact when I looked at the version on this laptop, it was still 4.3.1. When I looked in the list of applications in the uninstall/change window it was still showing 4.3.0, so apparently I upgraded to 4.3.1 (Which I downloaded in May). I deleted 4.3.1, download Raidar_Win.exe again, just to make sure it was 4.3.2 that was downloading since the posting called it 4.3.1.
Check the file size and see if you are getting the complete download - it is 18,399KB. I originally downloaded this version in July. However, in a test, I again downloaded it from here. There are times I run into an application that will not load when saved into nested folders, so I at times save or move an install file onto the desktop. I then simply double click and let it install. You might delete any copy of a previous version you have on your machine. Sometime upgrades do not fully delete a previous version which will then prevent the installation of the new version.
But, since you re-installed Win 7, that should not be a problem.
Can you tell us what make and model of PC and did it come with Windows 7 or Vista originally. (This laptop came from the factory with Vista, but I used the Win7 upgrade disk to make a clean install. (Same situation with one desktop, the other desktop had Win7 installed from a full install disk.) I prefer doing a clean install to get rid of all the junk that ships with some machines, and does not bring forward any inconsistencies from the previous OS.
It should not make any difference between 64bit and 32bit versions of Win 7 as it installs as a 32 bit application in Program Files (x-86) on the 64 bit version which is for 32 bit applications, and in Program Files on 32 bit applications. Look in C:\Program Files\Netgear ReadyNAS for a folder name JRE. There should be two folders and six files all dated the same as your download data.
By the way, I don't think Java makes a significant difference, I could of course be wrong, but the version of JRE found in the above folder.
Did you originally try to install RAIDar from the CD included with your NV+?
Did it seem to fully install?
Sometimes a download file will be corrupted in downloading, I have had it happen several times, although not as bad under DSL as it was under dial up. I would try another download and make sure the bytes match the original. (18,840,064).
