I have been running into a few people having similar issue. I have found that it can be hit and miss for some accounts that do work.
The other side that I have got was there are possible changes where there will be same account details imported from the my.netgear.com into the Smartnetwork accounts.
I know the Smartnetwork team is working hard on getting the site in a more stable state and the possible importing of accounts.
