Did you check the shares page?
Also, the log should include a "System: External storage device connected." message.

but no entry under shares , Volumes, e.g.
actual no way to see USB storage.
Message one time in Log only:
german: System: Externes Speichergerät ist verbunden, aber das Dateisystem wird nicht erkannt.
english: external storage indetified but file system could not be recognised.
