ReadyNAS model RND4000-100EUS - replacement power supply
Hi there! I have a ReadyNAS box that needs a new power supply. The box and cable that connects the NAS to the wall socket that is, not the internal power unit. I've found some on ebay, but they m...

All you need is the correct cable, there is no transformer. The input voltage to the supply can be 100-240.

Thanks very much, but it wasn't the internal power supply I was after, but a cable/transformer to connect the box to the mains. Turns out all I needed was a kettle lead. (I imagine this is a UK thing, as it has an earth lead. No idea what the US equivalent would be.)
So now I've got it poered up, I need to work out why I can't access all the shares, but that's another post for another time! :)

I had problem accessing shares after losing my power supply. Had to reformat ALL HDDs to regain access....unfortunately, that means lost data. Well, it did for me. Thankfully, the NAS was not the only place that I had that data. Now, I have 3 NAS devices [18TB w/RAID5], 4 external HDDs [8TB cap]...one can never have too much redundancy.

I had no issues booting up when I replaced a failed power supply.
However, a lot of posters report that they have lost data after an unexpected power cut. That's one reason I always recommend a UPS for the NAS.
Of course a UPS can't protect you when the PSU fails. Which is why (like you) I also stress the need for backups.

Thanks very much for the replies. I'm going to be away for a few days or so, but I'll get right on it when I get back. :)
