Resync part of scheduled scrub excessively long

So after 12 hours shy of 2 weeks, it completed. I'm stumped as to why it took so long since there is no change in any SMART data. I'm going to add another drive and then manually convert it to RAID5 instead of the RAID6 it will do automatically. That should give it the same free space as the main unit, but will also take a lot of time. With the current cost of hard drives, I'm so happy I decided to buy enough to fill the unit plus a spare when I got the others but was waiting until they're needed to install. Current price is almost 3x what I paid.
