When you say your RN526 is not on the internet - curious what this means exactly. My boxes are all on my home network, and my home network can be accessed remotely in several ways (Remote Desktop for example, if enabled), and I can VPN into my home network.
I think he means, it can't connect on the internet to the Netgear servers for virus definitions, firmware upgrades or apps as all their servers are removed/shut down, so you will get an error if you try and ask it to check for firmware etc as being "not connected to the internet and to check your internet connection" - which is actually fine, its just it cant locate their servers on the DNS, as they are no longer there.
