ready nas ultra 6 Drive expansion with 6tb drives
Hi
My Pioneer Pro 6 has been running fine with 6 * 2TB drives in however when I fitted 6 * 4TB WD Reds (on the approved list) it will not expand past 8TB in Raid 5. have firmware 4.2.15
I have tried factory resets and the system recognises the 4TB drives (saying it can see 3726GB on each) but always only makes 167**GB available ahout 8TB in Raid 5
I have tried deleting the the volume but it wont' expand past 8TB :-(
Does anyone have any ideas?

Firmware 4.2.15 is very old, the current version is 4.2.31, you need to update and perhaps factory default
Hopefully others will help with your expansion issue
You could also consider upgrading the NAS to OS 6 firmware, search the forum on this

looks like that is solving the problem.... :-)
Thanks

the 4.2.31 firmware only partially worked. It seems to be able to see all 3726 GB of each disk when I look at the "Status->Health" but the volume (X-RAID2) is only 8324GB.... it won't expand past the size it was with 6*2TB disks. any suggestions?
