ReadyCloud Creates New Share on NAS???
I have a user who user logged-in to use files on her company's ReadyNAS remotely (from her home PC), and somehow the documents folder on her home PC got replicated to the NAS (including the contents of home documents folder), creating a new share onthe NAS (with the name [HomePCName\Documents]). She tells me that she did not do anything of the sort herself, that it just happened. She was horrified by this, and rightly so. Is there any possible setting that controls something something like this? How could it possibly happen "on its own" - doesn't seem possible, does it?
There is a backup feature, which she might have accidentally enabled. See this: https://kb.netgear.com/29776/How-do-I-back-up-data-from-a-Windows-PC-to-my-ReadyNAS-OS-6-system-using-the-ReadyCLOUD-client

Thanks - the backup-by-accident scenario seems like a possibility. Actually it seems like too easy of a possibility - there should be more safeguards. I assume only the user would have access rights to the accidentally backed-up folder, but that still means an administrator (i.e., the user's boss) can see the personal information. Good to be aware of this, for sure!
