ReadyCloud for Windows/Android hidden shares, different behavior, RN422

Hi

Sorry, I´m posting in this forum as I can´t se my posts in "ReadyNAS Cloud Storage" part.

Accessing my RN422 over ReadyCloud works fine and all shares shown in the apps for both Windows and Android.
With RC for Android I can access all shares, including Hidden ones (SMB-settings under main administraton account).
With RC för Windows I can access all shares but the Hidden ones. In this situation the File Explorer is not opening.

How should it work? Am I missing something?

In both cases I´m using the same RC administrator account.
Also the same behavior on local and remote network.

ReadyNAS 422 with OS 6.10.3
Windows 10 Home (version 2004)
Android 9
ReadyCloud for Windows 1.20.1304.567 and 1.19.1301.569
ReadyCloud för Android 2.0.7

Best regards,
Ulf

  • Hi

My mistake, the Hidden-attribute was not the cause of the problem with RC for Windows,
instead the Read/Write-attribute was not enabled for the RC-admin-account in SMB/Security.
I suppose the allways full access for a RC-admin-account with RC for Android is by design.

    Best Regards,
    Ulf

What hidden shares are showing? Can you post a screenshot? If it's the administrator account you are using, I believe you should be able to access all shares.
