ReadyDLNA: File size limit?
I just got a ReadyNAS NV+ v2, and began uploading a bunch of media files. Everything shows up OK and plays fine, with one exception. This file is otherwise the same as the others, but does not show up on my playback devices. It does show up in a simple file directory. The only difference I can discern is that this file is larger than others -- about 6.4 gigabytes; the largest of my other files is about 2.5 GB (which shows and plays fine). Is there a limit to the file size for ReadyDLNA? If not, does anyone know a reason why a file wouldn't show up?
ReadyNAS NV+ v2 (ARM) ; RAIDiator 5.3.5 ; ReadyDLNA 1.0.25
Playback devices include a Samsung UN55D7000 television, a PS3 (fully updated), and a Sony Blu-ray player.

- flaminioAspirantIn the upnp-av.log, there are two entries for this file:
[2012/08/11 19:17:28] metadata.c:741: warn: Opening /c/media/Videos/{filename}.m4v failed!
[2012/08/11 19:17:28] scanner.c:503: warn: Unsuccessful getting details for /c/media/Videos/{filename}.m4v!
The exact filename removed for privacy.
So, ReadyDLNA does seem to think that there is a problem with this file. It plays fine if I access it directly via my computer (not through DLNA). Do the errors "741" and "503" have any meaning? - mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredYou might wish to open a support case at my.netgear.com and attach your logs to the case. Post your case number.

Usually when formatted this way "metadata.c:741" means that the warning was detected at line 741 in metadata.c. Similarly for 503. - flaminioAspirant

No, it's a file I made myself. I converted it from the original format to .m4v with Handbrake.
Curiously, I uploaded the original file (which is bigger) to the NAS, and it plays just fine. I'm going to guess that Handbrake did something in the conversion process that ReadyDLNA didn't like (although the file plays fine everywhere else). Since the original file plays OK, I'm just going to go with that. - devilsrearAspirant

Hi
I've 3d bluray mkv which is just over 18 gig - this streams fine from a duo v1 and a duo v2.
So far I've not come across any issues with file size
