I started a dialog a few months ago with a guy who works for Drobo / Transporter. Just at my time of need, he emailed me (he knew that I had returned his 1.0 product) saying "I think you'll be happy with our 2.0 software. I use it every day and it's great." So I pre-ordered a Transporter Sync for $99 and I'm going to plug it into one of my existing drives. We will see. :-)
