ReadyNAS 102 Disk Swap
I have a 2 bay ReadyNAS 102 with two 4TB drives. I am wondering if it is possible to swap out the two drives and replace them with two new drives to be used to hold data that I access infrequently. After setting that up, I would like to replace the drives with the original drives. Is this possible or would this confuse my ReadyNAS?

The NAS is not really designed for that kind of use, but it will work. The NAS will not become confused because each set of drives will have an OS instance of it's own. Each will be a "separate NAS", less the hardware. Nothing in your configuration except the model number and serial number are stored on the NAS -- everything is on the drives.
Other things may become confused when you change out the drives and the NAS morphs into it's counterpart.

Thanks for your reply. Is there anything that I should do, in case I eventually get a second readyNAS 102 and have them both online? I.e. give it a unique volume name.

There's nothing special you need to do. Note you don't have to get another RN102 (which is now end of life). You will be able to migrate the disks to any other OS-6 ReadyNAS.
If you get an RN200 series, you'd just move the disks with the NAS powered down. If you get an x86 ReadyNAS, you'd uninstall the apps before you move the disks, and then reinstall them afterwards. The ReadyNAS can shift it's own software from Arm to x86, but it can't do that with the apps.
