ReadyNAS 104 - Slowness with Firmware 6.4.1

I just want to report that the latest firmware 6.4.1 is extremely slow, SMB is pretty much unusable (takes 5 mins to load the list of files on big directories) NFS is at best 5M/s and subjected to random hang which caused the clients to hang.

I had to downgrade to 6.4.0 and the speed seems to have improved, I am getting ~20M/s with SMB and no hang, although I dont think this the fastest I have had but it's much better than the speed and stability I was geting with 6.4.1.

Seeing that I am not the only one with this issue, however the lack of official guide, respond to resolve this buggy release is quite disappointing.

I have the same issue.  and disabling anti virus is a work around but why wont the engineers test their firmware before they release it.  I have a case open and the tech I am dealing with Abigail Anduyan doesnt care.  they want me to replace the hardware for a slowness problem and I want them to find out if they replace under warranty a new unit or a refurnbished one.  Thaty is all I am asking and Abigail Anduyan does not want to help me.  I want to know because I am not sure this will fix my issue after I spend money shipping for a replacement that is all beat up.

I have had nothing but problems since upgrading to 6.4.0.  If your on 6.2.5 do yourself a favor and stay at that level.  DO NOT UPGRADE.

fxmail, we do test firmware before we release it and we are working on the anti-virus issue.

Our warranty permits us to replace hardware that fails with refurbished units. If you are not satisfied with the condition a replacement unit comes in you can send us hi-res photos of the problem for us to review.

I understand in your case #25993341 that Out of Memory errors are still occurring despite various setting changes having been made. This has led to support to suspect hardware failure.

The Out of Memory problem I can see in the logs from December 15th relates to high memory usage from the anti-virus service.
