ReadyNAS 104 Cuts Out When Streaming Music

I have been using a ReadyNAS to stream music to my receiver for a number of years now, initially with the NV+ and now with the RN104. The receiver I was using up until a week ago was the Yamaha RX-V673, but I now have the Yamaha RX-V581.

Since getting the new receiver, I've been running into trouble streaming my music. As far as I can tell, the receiver is set up correctly and is finding the network without any trouble. However, after playing music from the NAS for a period of time (it seems to vary), it will suddenly cut out and the only way to resume playing is to turn off the receiver and then turn it back on again. It then continues normally until it cuts out again. It does this repeatedly throughout the day.

A little bit of history... When I had the NV+ combined with the RX-V673, the music would stream without any troubles at all and there were never any cutouts. When I upgraded to the RN104 with the RX-V673, the music would cut out on occasion, for no apparent reason, as is happening now -- only it wouldn't happen often at all.

The problem is directly related to the streaming of music from the NAS, as all other functions of the receiver work without interruption, which points me to the NAS as the problem, especially since it did the same thing with the previous receiver, albeit far less frequently. The RN104 is a lot more advanced than my old NV+ and so I'm wondering if there is perhaps a setting that I'm not aware of and which is causing this problem.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Which protocol/app do you use to stream to the receiver? SMB? DLNA? Something else?

Thanks for the quick reply, mdgm.

As far as I'm aware, the only protocol available is DLNA. So that would be what I'm using.

If you download the logs are there any clues in upnp-av.log?
