Readynas 104 drops out when copying to it
I have a readynas 104 configured with four 4tb drives in raid 5. I've managed to copy about 6tb onto the device without issue but now whenever I go to copy something onto the box, lets say a single 4...

NO IT DIDN'T! You're missing the point... there is no fix without changing from BTRFS. There is a fundamental problem in the code, until it is fixed (and they are saying that will happen in the next firmware release, but don't forget some people have been waiting 6 MONTHS or more for this) your box WILL FAIL to copy to and from it at some point.
