My NAS is online, I can create a new Share and sync it for the first time. Smaller shares can sync, my main can't. It has more than enough space on both the NAS and dropbox. It has a sync button it the NAS browser UI.

Are you using a free subscription to DropBox? It could be there is no enough space in your DropBox account.
