ReadyNAS 104 Slow Transfer FW 6.5.1
Good day Netgear community, I recently upgraded to the latest FW 6.5.1, and not until today I went to transfer a bunch of files over from my Win 7 machine to the NAS, and found the transfer speed...

Well well well, looks like eth0 was giving up the ghost. Swapped over to eth1 and away she went at full speed again. I actually never thought to try this out, I am extremely estatic, thank you Stephen. Now how do I go about getting this fixed under warranty? The unit was purchased 26/12/14 from S/Express and I have proof of purchase (invoice). It is my understanding these units have a 3 years hardware warranty?

Hi mdgm,
The log indicates the firmware updated from 6.4.2 straight into 6.5.1 ?
I have the following apps installed; Anti-Virus Plus, osCommerce, PHPSysInfo for Readynas & SMB Plus.
I have emailed the log (zip file) per instructions.
Thanks for your help with this.

Not sure what's causing this. Perhaps try turning off some of the apps and see if that makes a difference.

In the past, the apps never affected the transfer speed. Anti-virus is not enabled. osCommerce is installed but currently not in use, and I can not see how PHPSysInfo or SMB Plus would cause transfer speed issues. I will try powering down the NAS entirely and see if that makes any difference. If this fails, perhaps a factory reset?

If you have a backup, then a factory reset (wipes all data, settings, everything) certainly is an option, but that is a last resort.

Ok, so performed a factory reset with FW 6.5.1. Miraculously started to work fine again for a few days with ~30mb/sec transfer rate, then on the same day it was working fine, the speed has gone to the dogs again. I did the following without no success on fixing this very frustrating issue:
1) Ejected USB 3.0 HDD via GUI, reconnect, no fix.
2) Reboot NAS, no fix.
3) Shutdown NAS, no fix.
4) Swap over network cable, no fix.
I actually have 3 USB HDD's connected, and it's the same result on all three when I attempt to copy from PC to NAS. No Apps installed and Anti-Virus is disabled on the NAS.
It seems evident to me, from the other posts on this forum that it's a firmware issue? So what's the solution?
