ReadyNAS 104 Slow Transfer FW 6.5.1
Good day Netgear community, I recently upgraded to the latest FW 6.5.1, and not until today I went to transfer a bunch of files over from my Win 7 machine to the NAS, and found the transfer speed...

Well well well, looks like eth0 was giving up the ghost. Swapped over to eth1 and away she went at full speed again. I actually never thought to try this out, I am extremely estatic, thank you Stephen. Now how do I go about getting this fixed under warranty? The unit was purchased 26/12/14 from S/Express and I have proof of purchase (invoice). It is my understanding these units have a 3 years hardware warranty?

Poor network performance might be caused by
-Jumbo Frames (particularly if the frame size is different on the PC and the NAS)
-lack of 802.3x flow control (particularly if the client device isn't gigabit)
-cabling (you should be using cat 5e or better)
-failing NIC on the NAS (or the router port)
-using both RN104 NICs on the same subnet without having bonding configured
-having ipv6 enabled on the NAS (really shouldn't cause performane issues, but sometimes does)
I think you've ruled out some of these at least, but maybe check into the rest. You might begin by rebooting the router!
Other causes of poor performance
-apps loading down the RN104 CPU or memory (sounds ruled out)
-background/maintenance tasks running on the RN104 (sync, scrub, balance, defrag, ...)
-file system too full (unlikely since its sluggish on multiple volumes)
-failing internal disk (perhaps possible, since the OS is running on them, even when the target is USB)
